In implementing this policy, the nature of the our business means that we will necessarily be influenced, and at times constrained, by the policies adopted on environmental matters by our customers.

Unisec recognises the importance of complying with relevant environmental legislation and regulations, as well as other requirements (including those of its customers). In most contracts that we enter into, we assume express obligations to ensure such compliance. In particular:

• Group employees will be required to observe applicable environmental, health, hazardous material transportation and safety laws & regulations.

• The environmental impact of all materials in use or proposed for use in operations will be assessed in advance.

• Controls by line management responsible for operations will be exercised on waste generation and onsite disposal, together with toxic and critical pollutant emissions.

• Materials which are considered to be of a hazardous nature to the employee, public or the environment shall be avoided, wherever possible.

• Unisec will promote environmental concern among its employees and seek to g
enerate an overall awareness of the impact of its operational activities on the environment.

• Employees will be encouraged to identify and promptly report potential environmental matters of concern to their line management.

• Unisec will seek to promote the efficient use of energy and material resources.
